Pro-life California doctors’ First Amendment rights are under attack. Since 2015, a state law, signed by liberal Governor Jerry Brown, has required that doctors’ offices and pregnancy clinics display the following sign: “California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services, prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women.”

Suggesting abortion as an option for pregnant women may go against the religious beliefs of pro-life medical professionals. The United States Supreme Court will ultimately decide whether the law goes against doctors’ freedom of speech and religion, or if they are legally required to discuss a patient’s availability to undergo an abortion.

Abortion is an option in unwanted pregnancies. Even so, it should never be taken lightly or considered the first option. Some Republicans will even approve of the procedure in complicated cases of rape, incest, or danger or the mother.
