A former fertility doctor in Indianapolis found himself in trouble after being caught severely taking advantage of his patients’ trust in him and crossing ethical boundaries decades ago. However, the judicial system is not taking the situation seriously, enraging the victims. Dr. Donald Cline practiced in a fertility clinic, helping women become pregnant from what was supposed to be “anonymous donors” in the 70s and 80s. Instead, however, the now 79-year-old doctor provided them with his own sperm, forcing them to bear his children.
Clines has since retired in 2009, but his legacy in the fertility industry lives on, literately, in the form of his biological children. Upon researching ancestry data and undergoing DNA testing, Cline’s biological donor children began to figure out the truth behind who their father is and that they were all related. Initially, Cline denied switching out the sperm and proposed that his former patients were “trying to slander” his name.
