Pair of ‘DREAMERS’ Murdered Man In North Carolina

ASHEBORO, NC (The News & Record) – Two Siler City residents pleaded guilty this week to charges in connection to the October 2015 death of a man.

On Thursday, Miguel Angel Munoz, 19, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and concealing an unnatural death in the death of Francisco Rivas Galves, also of Siler City, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

Randolph County Superior Court Judge V. Bradford Long sentenced Munoz to 200 to 252 months in prison. Munoz is a citizen of El Salvador and will be returned to his home country based on an pre-existing federal warrant.

On Friday, Ingrid Morales Rodriguez, 25, pleaded guilty to accessory to commit second-degree murder. She received a sentence of 75 to 102 months.

Authorities say during the late-night hours of Oct. 23, 2015, Munoz and Rodriguez picked up Galves at his home in Siler City. They traveled north on U.S. 421 through Randolph County. Prior to returning to Siler City during the early morning hours of Oct. 24, Galves, who was 21 at the time, was shot twice by Munoz in the backseat of the vehicle in which they were traveling.
