A person never knows how another person may react to being touched. Sometimes, a simple “pat on the back” can lead to all sorts of assumptions that were never intended. That seems to be the case in Harrisburg as the Post Gazette reports that Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-PA) reacted so strongly to being touched on the arm by Rep. Matt Bradford (D-PA) that is reaction confused many attending.
The House Affairs Committee had a meeting on Tuesday and Bradford touched Metcalfe’s arm. Perhaps reading a different meaning into House Affairs, Metcalfe interrupted the Democrat in mid-speech and exclaimed, “Representative Bradford, Look, I’m a heterosexual. I have a wife, I love my wife. I don’t like men, as you might. But stop touching me all the time.”
Making a reference to the Democrats, Metcalfe also fired off adding, “It’s like, keep your hands to yourself. Keep your hands to yourself. Like, if you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it. I don’t.”
