In another exhibit of peak Clown World, retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens recently wrote a N.Y. Times opinion piece calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment. Not just limits on AR-15s or bump stocks, but a repeal of the entire Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Though his fellow travelers are hemming and hawing over whether the old kook had shown too much leg in public, which is hypocritical and hilarious in this world where the once-unthinkable has now become the unassailable, his idea isn’t without support among the “coalition of the ascendant” that makes up the Democratic Party. One-fifth of the U.S. population supports a repeal of the Second Amendment, including 30% of blacks, 27% of Hispanics, and 39% of Democrats.
There are gun owners of every race, gender, and political persuasion. The NRA goes out of its way to cuck to blacks and feminists on this account. However, as of 2017 the Pew Research Center found that,
White men are especially likely to be gun owners: About half (48%) say they own a gun, compared with about a quarter of white women and nonwhite men (24% each) and 16% of nonwhite women.
