RANDOLPH COUNTY, NC (WXII) – Police have arrested a 30-year-old Asheboro man accused of kidnapping a teenage girl from her home on Wednesday in Davidson County.
Emanuel Esquivel was booked into the Randolph County Jail on Friday. He was arrested on the 5800 block of US Hwy 64 W in Randolph Co. before noon.
The incident unfolded in Lexington when Davidson County deputies say Emanuel Esquivel took a 14-year-old from her home without the parent’s knowledge or permission. The girl’s parents say Esquivel was a family friend.
During the night, investigators say Esquivel the took the girl to his place of work and possibly sexually assaulted her there. Family members of the victim say they discovered the girl was missing at about 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday and she appeared to have left the home at about 2:20 a.m. they say when she was missing, they discovered that Esquivel had contacted their daughter by looking at a phone bill.
