(The Daily Wire) The NAACP Board of Directors issued a statement on Saturday warning black Americans that the state of Florida was not a safe place for them and included an official “travel advisory” calling the state “openly hostile” – but the board’s chairman, Leon Russell, apparently lives in Florida himself.
The statement, released on Saturday, accused Governor Ron DeSantis of making “aggressive attempts to erase black history and to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida schools.”
The travel advisory goes on to warn black Americans that “Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color.”
But Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler quickly noticed that Russell, chairman of the NAACP’s Board of Directors, lived in Florida — and he offered a quick response.
“The CHAIRMAN of the @NAACP lives in Tampa, FLORIDA!” he tweeted. “True leadership is being willing to do what you ask others to do … time to step up and MOVE. If you think our state is so bad…
