(Daily Signal) A new report reveals students in the nation’s largest school districts are encouraged to change their names and pronouns without parental knowledge, even though those same schools require parental approval for over-the-counter medicine.
The report, released by the Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies, found that “eight of the nation’s 20 largest school districts allow students to use names and pronouns at school aligned with their gender identity without parental knowledge and consent,” said the institute.
“Yet these same districts, including New York City Department of Education, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Chicago Public Schools, require parental permission to dispense over-the-counter medication to students at school,” added the Defense of Freedom Institute.
The report comes one day after news broke that Saint Paul Public Schools is “explicitly instructing teachers to use students’ preferred names and pronouns with or without parental consent,” according to…

(The Hill) A new Florida bill would expand the state’s ban on classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in public schools.
The legislation, filed Tuesday by state Rep. Adam Anderson (R), would expand on the Parental Rights in Education law, which has been denounced by critics as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, in prohibiting instruction from pre-K through eighth grade. State law currently only bans it from kindergarten through third grade.
The bill would also expand the law to apply to charter schools.
It would further prevent employees, contractors and students of a public K-12 school from being required to refer to someone else by their pronouns if they do not match that of their sex assigned at birth.
“It shall be the policy of every public K-12 educational institution that is provided or authorized by the Constitution and laws of Florida that a person’s sex is an immutable biological trait and that it is false to ascribe to a person a pronoun that does not correspond to such person’s sex,” the bill states.
The legislation would prohibit employees and contractors in public K-12 schools from…

(Epoch Times) Some of the largest school districts in the United States currently require parental consent for students to take over-the-counter medication but not for them to change their names or pronouns, according to a new report.
Published Feb. 22 by the nonprofit Defense of Freedom Institute for Policy Studies (DFI), the report notes that such is the case in eight of the nation’s 20 largest school districts by enrollment, including the New York City Department of Education, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Chicago Public Schools.
“There are more than 3 million students in America from kindergarten all the way through their senior year of high school who are allowed to change their name and pronouns at school without their parents knowing, but not to take an Advil from the school nurse,” DFI spokesperson Angela Morabito told NTD, sister outlet of The Epoch Times, on Feb. 24.

(The Overton Report) I’ve tried to find a way to approach this article properly for multiple days. Is what I am about to write to be considered a “critique of the modern United States Education System?” Or, am I trying to expose the fact that far-left activists have been given leading roles in indoctrinating future generations of Americans?
Or…have I stumbled upon one of the ever-increasing examples of an adult who deems themselves to be an activist while being employed as a teacher, suffering from Munchausen-by-proxy, who was not satisfied with confusing their own child into devastation and mental issues by “transing” her as a child, and must, therefore, re-enact the ritual upon pre-teen students which will potentially and irreparably harm multiple graduating classes throughout the foreseeable future?
I believe there is a bit of truth in all of those assessments…but here we go anyway.
A parent has all but lost hope, feeling she has nowhere to turn after finding out her 8th grade daughter was asked to fill out a survey regarding gender identification, sexual orientation, and more. What’s worse? The survey was meant to be hidden from both parents and administrators, as well as…

(Washington Examiner) One of the reasons education reform is sweeping the country is because families realized how necessary it was during the pandemic. My family was one of them.
I remember opening my work calendar and realizing I had back-to-back meetings for six hours while my twin kindergartners, who couldn’t yet read, had to struggle to complete their schoolwork on their own. My third grader couldn’t figure out her math problems but didn’t have anyone she could ask because the teacher wasn’t available online. My office became the kitchen table, and I became my children’s teacher.
I started to see what my children were learning or, rather, what they weren’t learning. I began to ask questions about the school system, such as, “Why can my daughter take and fail a test 11 times before passing and still not get any additional help? Why is she even allowed to retake a test she’s failed that many times? She clearly doesn’t understand the material.”
I wasn’t alone. Parents all over the country began…
