The cross on Albany Hill had stood for 52 years overlooking the East shore of San Francisco Bay

(FOX) – Christians in a San Francisco Bay Area community are fighting to restore a large cross which had overlooked the city of Albany for over 50 years.

On June 8, 2023, the city took down the cross after years of legal battles between the city council and a local community service group, the Albany Lions Club, which had maintained the structure for decades. The Albany City Council argued the cross shouldn’t remain as a religious symbol on public property and a judge agreed, granting the city possession of the cross in a prejudgment order last year.

But Christians in the community told Fox News Digital the cross was a fixture of the community and people who didn’t like the Christian symbol had stirred opposition against it by spreading lies.

“There were lies actually brought up against the cross saying that it had affiliation with the KKK. And there’s an atheist group that really hates the cross. And so they got people on city council and spread the lies,” Albany native Dorena Osborn told Fox News Digital. “There are many people, older folks, that remember really good memories… So this is really a part of Albany’s heritage.”

Osborn, a devout Christian, grew up visiting the cross and praying there often. The site holds special memories for her. It was where her husband proposed, and where she held her child’s…

(FaithWire) – Resounding religious liberty victories recently unfolded at the U.S. Supreme Court. Yet such freedoms are in peril in various nations across the globe, with confusion clouding free speech and exercise rights.

From a U.K. Army vet charged after refusing to pay a fine for silently praying outside an abortion clinic to a Finnish politician on trial for tweeting a Bible verse about sexuality, there’s no shortage of concerning and eyebrow-raising legal battles raging.

Regardless of First Amendment wins here in the U.S., the battle for freedom is nowhere near over. Jeremy Dys, senior counsel for First Liberty, a conservative law firm, offered a candid assessment when asked if Americans risk seeing the same sorts of cases develop in the states.

“I really hope that that risk is low, but I can’t say that it is zero, because there’s always forces that want to restrict our religious liberty for reasons I don’t quite understand,” Dys said. “In fact, that’s the very reason why the Founding Fathers put the First Amendment in place to begin with.”

The attorney said the Founders knew some governments had a history of restraining people’s religious liberty — and wanted to…

Tim Ballard, Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., introduce bill to compel the Biden administration to locate 85,000 minors who crossed the border unaccompanied

(FOX) – Tim Ballard, the former Homeland Security agent and undercover operative whose experience rescuing child sex trafficking victims inspired the film “Sound of Freedom,” joined Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., Tuesday in demanding the Biden administration find the estimated 85,000 unaccompanied minors who crossed the southern border and remain unaccounted for in the U.S.

At a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., Smith announced new legislation dubbed the “Safeguarding Endangered Children, Unaccompanied and at Risk of Exploitation Act of 2023” or as the “SECURE Act of 2023.”

The bill aims to compel the federal government to report on efforts to locate, establish contact with, conduct wellness checks on, and investigate any suspicion of human trafficking related to the approximately 85,000 unaccompanied migrant children released from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) custody “with whom subsequent contact has been lost.”

“Due to the failed open border policies of the Biden administration, we must address the tens of thousands, really hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied minors now at risk for trafficking and abuse,” Smith said, before introducing Ballard as a “hero.”

Ballard said HHS data shows at least…

Religious liberty battles spreading across Europe and beyond are sparking fears about if — or when — these same struggles could come to America.

(FaithWire) – In Finland, Päivi Räsänen, a member of parliament is one of the more prominent people on trial for her religious views.

“It was four years ago, in June 2019, when I posted a Twitter post and also to Facebook, and it was about the Pride event that was going on and that the main church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, decided to support it officially,” she recently told “The 700 Club.” “And it was a shock to me.”

In questioning the church’s support, Räsänen shared a Bible verse from the New Testament book of Romans about same-sex relationships and quickly found herself in a legal battle.

“Some citizen made a criminal complaint about this Twitter update, and then police started to investigate the case,” she said. “And after it came into public, then there became more and more criminal complaints about one radio program, and then there was an old pamphlet I had written [in] 2004 about marital and sexual issues.”

While unanimously acquitted of charges last year, prosecutors appealed Räsänen’s case, leading to a second trial. She’s now awaiting the verdict in that subsequent battle, and expects to be victorious.

“The maximum punishment is…

John Glenn Elementary School in Oklahoma has hired another cross-dresser for its classrooms after sparking outrage over making drag queen Shane ‘Shantel Mandalay’ Murnan its principal.

(LIFESITE) – On August 29, V1SUT released publicly available information about Dr. Shane Murnan, a newly hired, head principal at John Glenn Elementary School within the Western Heights Public School district in Oklahoma. Principal Murnan, a 52-year-old man who spends much of his free time as drag queen Shantel Mandalay, was previously arrested for possessing child pornography.

The article went viral garnering thousands of comments from outraged parents asking how Murnan’s hiring could’ve been approved. Much has been learned since then about an additional hire of concern at John Glenn, the strategic workings of an unscrupulous public education and legacy media connection desperate to protect the drag queen principal, the true level of activist infiltration within the local education system, and a plan to prevent the parents of John Glenn students from being heard concerning Murnan’s hiring at the district’s September 11 board meeting.

A sign of dark times: Western Heights defends drag queen principal, goes political

Numerous national publications have covered the defensive response of Western Heights superintendent Brayden Savage in publicly explaining Murnan’s hiring.Within the official Western Heights statement on the matter, first released on the district’s Facebook page with comments hidden, parents were assured the district followed its “usual hiring practices” and praises flowed for Murnan as “highly recommended” with an “outstanding reputation” and a Ph.D.

Superintendent Brayden Savage goes on to confirm the district was fully aware of Murnan’s previous arrest before hiring him, though never actually mentioning “child porn” and brushing the charges off as…
