(Christian Post) Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas signed a bill into law Friday that bans sex-change surgeries and hormonal interventions aimed at transitioning minors with gender dysphoria, as the Lone Star State joins more than a dozen others to pass similar legislation.

Senate Bill 14, which goes into effect on Sept. 1, prohibits medical interventions such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries like double mastectomy for female-born minors identifying as male. It also forbids the use of state funds for such procedures in children.

The law stipulates that the procedures are prohibited “for the purpose of transitioning a child’s biological sex as determined by the sex organs, chromosomes, and endogenous profiles of the child or affirming the child’s perception of the child’s sex if that perception is inconsistent with the child’s biological sex.”

The bill passed the Texas Legislature last month. It’s signing into law drew praise from conservatives and condemnation from…

(The Union Bulletin) Americans at all levels of government are casting about for more agreeable neighbors. Residents of Buckhead, a wealthy enclave with Atlanta, have temporarily shelved their plans to break off and form a separate city, due to opposition from state officials, but that effort will likely continue for years to come. In numerous other states, multiple counties are looking for ways to escape states where their residents feel like political minorities. On Tuesday, a Texas state senator introduced a bill that would allow citizens to vote next year on leaving the union entirely.

“We need a national divorce,” tweeted Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene last month. “We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government.”

Her comment triggered a good amount of commentary and soul-searching about the question of whether the national motto of e pluribus unum — or, out of many, one — is still viable. These are, after all, the United States, or are supposed to be.

“This is a symptom of a far bigger problem facing America, which is this deep, deep polarization along ideological lines, where people feel they can’t live in a jurisdiction with those they don’t agree with anymore,” says Ilana Rubel, the Democratic leader in the Idaho House.

America has been undergoing a “big sort” for decades now, with people moving into communities where they’re surrounded by like-minded people, whether deeply conservative or highly progressive. In presidential elections, most counties are now decided by landslide margins of 20 percentage points or more. During the 2016 and 2020 elections, more than 20 percent of counties were decided by “super landslides,” giving…

TNM Statement on Impeachment Proceedings Against Attorney General Ken Paxton

(TNM) As President of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM), I stand compelled to voice our concern and strong condemnation of the impeachment proceedings initiated by the Texas House against Attorney General Ken Paxton.

This impeachment act is a flagrant violation of due process. The concerns raised in the impeachment articles are under judicial consideration or have already been addressed by our justice system. It’s deeply troubling to witness the Texas House and the General Investigating Committee seek to bypass this judicial process in what appears to be a politically motivated maneuver.

Attorney General Ken Paxton was elected by the people of Texas to be their defender against Federal overreach in accordance with Article 1, Section 2 of the Texas Constitution. His office has remained resolute on the frontlines of our state’s critical issues, addressing the border crisis, ensuring election integrity, and defending our state’s rights, even as the Texas House has lagged in these areas. This impeachment move, seemingly born out of personal and political vendetta, undermines the very essence of our Constitutional provision and disrespects the will of the Texans who elected him into office.

This scenario becomes even more concerning when …

(American Thinker) We are all Americans. That said, there have been efforts for years to divide us for perceived political reasons. Those who live in the bigger cities often tend to look down their noses to those who don’t. We have become a Blue America and a Red America. I personally believe that the colors are reversed, but maybe that’s just me. A good representation of red vs. blue can be seen on the 2020 election map by counties.

It has gotten so bad that there are discussions of secession and even civil war, God forbid. It would be difficult to have states against states. The real conflict appears to be larger cities versus the rest of America. The Islanders arrogantly call it flyover country. Call it whatever, but most of America itself is a sea of red with blue islands.

An interesting question might be who could better survive without the other.

What do most of the Blue Islands provide for America? California provides a lot of fruits and vegetables, although not as much as before. Many of our financial centers are on the larger Islands, but some have already moved out to Sea, and it would be simple for others to follow or simply set up new ones. Most larger cities are on Blue Islands. One of their major byproducts is crime, but let’s focus on products we need to survive.

The vast majority of our food is grown and produced in our Sea of Red. A substantial part of our manufacturing is in the Sea of Red, and more is coming.

Cars and trucks are made…

(Chris Rossini, Ron Paul’s Liberty Report) In a recent interview with CNBC, Elon Musk made a comment about the Fed and interest rates. He said: “You can think of raising the Fed rate as somewhat of a break pedal on the economy, frankly. It makes a lot of things more expensive.”

Now at face value, what Musk is saying seams reasonable. The Fed lowers interest rates and economic activity increases. They raise interest rates, and economic activity slows down. It does seem like the Fed is ‘in charge’ of how active the economy is.

But it’s important to look beyond what seems to be so obvious.

Activity does not necessarily lead to prosperity. Activity must be economical and profitable in order to produce prosperity. One can be very active in producing things that people don’t want in relation to other things. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what the Fed specializes in creating on a massive scale.

When the Fed artificially lowers rates, yes, economic activity picks up, but the Fed is actually distorting the economy. Businesses and individuals are…
