(Texian Partisan) On November 8, the U.S. will hold its midterm elections, while Texas voters will head to the polls to elect state and local officials. For many Texans, even with the passage of new voting legislation/Senate Bill 1 (SB1) in 2021, election integrity remains a point of concern.
In just over one month, voters in Texas will cast their ballots for seven statewide positions: governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, land commissioner, agriculture commissioner, comptroller and a Railroad Commission seat. Additionally, Texans are slated to elect officials for district-based congressional and legislative offices, the State Board of Education, and judicial seats.
Election Integrity is a Non-Partisan Issue in Texas
The issue of election integrity is not a partisan one. As part of its 2022 platform, the Republican Party of Texas (see Fair Elections Procedures) states the group’s support for “The constitutional authority of state legislatures to regulate voting.” Additionally, the 2022 platform of the Texas Democratic Party… Read the rest

America’s New Secession Movements Aren’t a Crime
In New Hampshire and California, separatist movements are getting fierce blowback. But charging proponents with insurrection isn’t the answer.

(Bloomberg) Secession, of all things, is back in the news. Residents of San Bernardino County, the largest in California, are debating whether to try to break off and form a state of their own. And there’s more: Last month, a New Hampshire electoral commission refused to bar from the ballot legislators who want their state to leave the US entirely. A citizens’ group had charged the legislators, absurdly, with insurrection.
Secession movements are nothing new, and punishing their advocates is a dreadful idea. Their causes are complex and, almost always, point to problems that should be taken seriously.

TNM Hosts Webinar “Global Exit & the Americas”

(Texial Partisan) Over the past 75 years, there has been an explosion of self-governing independent nations around the world. The mainstream narrative is that self-determination is a phenomenon that is reserved for people “over there.” Texans know that just isn’t true.
The Texian Partisan serves up consistent, high-quality pro-Texas news with a healthy side of Texit. For those readers who are fans of political and cultural self-determination, here’s a chance to learn more about Texit, straight from the state’s foremost advocacy organization.
The Texas Nationalist Movement is launching a series of webinars featuring experts in their respective fields focused on providing supporters with critical knowledge and information on every aspect of Texit.

Thomas Knapp: How would a ‘national divorce’ work?

(Argus Observer) Late last year, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., ran a Twitter poll asking her followers to weigh in on a "national divorce between "Republican" and "Democratic" states (since her Twitter account has since been suspended, I’m relying on reportage from the New York Post to describe it). The non-scientific results: 43% favored said "national divorce," 48% opposed it, 9% pronounced themselves undecided.
The "national divorce" talk has only increased since then, and of course there’s nothing new about the concept. As you may recall from high school history classes, hundreds of thousands died in a war over the last attempt at such a thing in the mid-19th century.
I’ve got nothing against secession as such. If people don’t want to remain affiliated with a polity, they should be free to exit the relationship. In fact, the namesake of the media center I write for, William Lloyd Garrison, encouraged NORTHERN secession…Read the rest

Massachusetts Dems react after DeSantis transports migrants into ritzy Martha’s Vineyard: ‘Evil and inhumane’
One local representative called the action ‘evil and inhumane’ but said the migrants were taken care of

(FOX) Lawmakers in Massachusetts were tasked with caring for dozens of migrants Wednesday after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent two planes full of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, a ritzy island located in Dukes County.
On Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers voiced their criticism online after they were forced to act swiftly to provide them shelter, food, blankets and other necessities to the 50 migrants who now reside in their state.
Rep. Dylan Fernandes, a local lawmaker who represents Martha’s Vineyard as well as Falmouth, Nantucket and Gosnold, said on social media that he was part of the logistical effort to welcome the migrants, which he claimed DeSantis sent "to gain cheap political points."
"Pulling into Martha’s Vineyard right now. An island that welcomes immigrants and is stronger and more vibrant because of them," he wrote in a series of tweets… (Sure they do. Welcome to Diversity! – DD)

DC Mayor Bowser Feels Texans’ Pain and Doesn’t Like It

(Texian Partisan) DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is learning what it’s like to be in Texas. After busloads of migrants arrived, she called for the National Guard, and nobody came. Whether you’re a sanctuary city like DC or a sovereign state like Texas, nobody is coming to help you when it comes to immigration.
Sanctuary City Turned Border Town
On November 14, 2016, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a statement reaffirming the District’s position as a sanctuary city. Last April, the governors of Texas and Arizona began to put her to the test. Within six months, Mayor Bowser declared a state of emergency.
During a press conference on September 8, 2022, Mayor Bowser stated the declaration is “a result of the actions of the governors of Texas and Arizona, who have bused hundreds of people to DC each week since April.” She claimed that the governors of Texas and Arizona have reported sending 9,400 people on buses to DC since April, 2022. Mayor Bowser stated, “In many ways, the governors of Texas and Arizona have turned us into a border town.”…Read the rest

EPA Deals a Blow to Texas Oil Export Economy

(Texian Partisan) Texas runs on oil, and the energy economy is critical to our success. Despite the Trump EPA having issued a permit in 2019 for a major infrastructure project called Bluewater Texas, the Biden EPA reversed its stance this week, applying environmental regulations to crush the project.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has directed the owners of Bluewater Texas, a proposed offshore oil terminal near Taft, Texas, to refile a permit to comply with stricter, national, pollution-control standards. Various environmental groups expressed concern the project doesn’t comply with National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Marine Tank Vessel Loading Operations, which could result in the possible release of hazardous air emissions.
The Bluewater Texas (BWTX) terminal project is a joint venture between Texas-based Phillips 66 and Singapore energy trading company, Trafigura. The proposed offshore, deep-water port for crude oil export involves new pipeline…Read the rest
