Texas Monthly Asks If We’re Serious About Secession? Heck Yes! #TEXIT

(The answer to this question should have been self-evident after reading the previously posted article about the cartels on the border that the US government refuses to do anything about – DD)

(Texian Partisan) A recent article in Texas Monthly asked if Texas Republicans were “serious about secession.” Hardly a piece of objective journalism, the article cherry-picked its stats and trotted out biased experts. The Texian Partisan breaks down the article, and their arguments just don’t stand up to scrutiny.
Texas Monthly has always leaned a bit to the political left, so it’s no surprise that their recent article on the possibility of Texit was somewhere between “well how about that” and “bless their hearts.” Although this piece was more balanced than some we’ve seen from them in the past, they still trot out the same arguments, choose some polls and ignore others, and have the same cadre of experts from liberal universities to say, “it can’t happen.”
Only Republicans?
First off, the article title assumes that Republicans are the only ones having a Texit conversation. While there are two Texit planks in the Republican Party of Texas platform, there’s been a plank in the Libertarian party platform for quite a few years. Also, recent polling…Read the rest

Facebook Suppresses Texit but Promotes Left Wing Sites

(Texian Partisan) Facebook is somewhat notorious for manipulating its content and for picking “winners” and “losers” on nearly every controversial issue. If you stand on the side they don’t like, your content gets shut down. Inconsistencies and hypocrisy abound.
Facebook has for a long time been hostile to the Texit movement. Our articles and posts show up less in our individual news feeds. Even our “friends” don’t get consistent access to pro-Texit content posted by legitimate citizens with Facebook profiles. If you sign up for a pro-Texit group like the Texian Partisan or Texas Nationalist Movement groups, you won’t get notifications of posts.
Today they took yet another turn further toward blatant censorship. We have made the case often…Read the rest

Are Texas Republicans Serious About Secession?

(Texas Monthly) One hundred and seventy-six years have passed since Texas called itself an independent republic. But to hear Daniel Miller, president of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM), tell it, “Texit,” the campaign to sever the Lone Star State from the United States, has never been so fashionably on-trend. “Given the ridiculous circus coming out of Washington, D.C., the number of people who at least want a chance to vote on it increases every day,” Miller told me over the phone in September. “We tell our volunteers that independence is not a hope, a wish, or a dream—it’s an inevitability. The only thing we’re debating is the timeline.”
Miller—who speaks with the friendly, authoritative twang you’d hear from a radio DJ at a big country music station—cited some developments that give him and other Texit advocates hope. In June, he noted, the Republican Party of Texas added a plank to its platform at its annual convention calling for a voter referendum on “whether or not the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.” And during the 2021 legislative session,…Read the rest

(Texian Partisan) One of the favorite arguments of the establishment is that Texit supporters are “fringe,” and our movement doesn’t represent a majority. New polling by SurveyUSA shows the opposite: voters support Texit now!
According to a newly released poll by SurveyUSA, a top-rated pollster, 66% of likely Texas voters want Texas to withdraw from the union and “become an independent country.”
The poll was conducted in eight states, including Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire, and Hawaii. There were 4375 respondents, with 625 from each state surveyed. The sample was reflective of overall average US demographics, with proportional representation according to race, gender, and political affiliation.
Let’s break down the Texas results. The first substantial question was, “Would you support Texas peacefully becoming an independent country along with other conservative states? Or not?”
Support for exiting the union polled highest in Texas, with regular voters showing 66% support and voters who vote only in presidential elections showing 63%. Even when non-voters were included,…Read the rest

The Big Rig: As Election Season Nears, Voters are Still Concerned About Election Integrity

(Texian Partisan) On November 8, the U.S. will hold its midterm elections, while Texas voters will head to the polls to elect state and local officials. For many Texans, even with the passage of new voting legislation/Senate Bill 1 (SB1) in 2021, election integrity remains a point of concern.
In just over one month, voters in Texas will cast their ballots for seven statewide positions: governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, land commissioner, agriculture commissioner, comptroller and a Railroad Commission seat. Additionally, Texans are slated to elect officials for district-based congressional and legislative offices, the State Board of Education, and judicial seats.
Election Integrity is a Non-Partisan Issue in Texas
The issue of election integrity is not a partisan one. As part of its 2022 platform, the Republican Party of Texas (see Fair Elections Procedures) states the group’s support for “The constitutional authority of state legislatures to regulate voting.” Additionally, the 2022 platform of the Texas Democratic Party… Read the rest
