America Remembers The Alamo

(Clever Journeys) – In one week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has done more to stop the illegal invasion on America’s southern border than the entire Biden Regime their entire time in Washington DC.

Most polls indicate there is a strong and growing consensus among Texans that the United States is headed in the wrong direction.

Just last fall, a study by the University of Texas and the Texas Politics Project, revealed a whopping 71% of respondents believe the country is on the wrong track. This opinion has been cited by a SurveyUSA poll, which found that 66% of likely Texas voters are prepared for Texas to withdraw from the United States.

“We’re ready to reclaim our right of self-government and become a self-governing nation among nations,” said Daniel Miller of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM). “Texans want to govern themselves in a very certain way. The federal government implements a one-size-fits-none policy, and in doing so, they ignore the wishes of the people, not just in Texas, but in other states as well.”

(Ryan McMaken, The Mises Institute) – In what can only be a surprising move, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has openly defied the White House and invoked Article 1 section 10 of the US constitution as a reason to ignore the Biden Administration’s demand that the State government cease erecting a border barrier along the Texas-Mexico border.

For months, the federal government has ratcheted up threats against the state government and condemned Texas for erecting razor-wire barriers and other impediments to migration. The White House has sued to force the demolition of these barriers in further efforts to increase foreign migration into Texas. Texas took legal action of its own against the federal order. However, on Monday, the US Supreme Court ruled that the Federal government could proceed with its plans to cut the razor-wire barrier.

Texas officials, however, have refused to grant federal agents access to the border. This extends a Texas policy that has essentially ejected federal personnel from a 2.5 mile stretch of the Rio Grande in Eagle Pass which has been used extensively by coyotes, cartels, and migrants as an entry point into the US.

(NY Sun) – The Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, is ratcheting up his war of words with the White House over border security, setting the stage for a potential showdown with the federal government over states’ rights the likes of which haven’t been seen in America since the Civil Rights era.

In a letter to President Biden Wednesday, Mr. Abbott suggests that the president is ignoring his constitutional duties to enforce federal laws vis-a-vis immigration and in some cases violating them. He also accuses the president of sending federal lawyers to court to block Texas’ efforts to secure the border and instructing agencies to ignore federal statutes mandating the detention of illegal migrants.

“Under President Biden’s lawless border policies, more than 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border in just three years,” the letter states. “That is more than the population of 33 different states in this country. This illegal refusal to protect the states has inflicted unprecedented harm on the people all across the United States.”

Mr. Abbott says the framers of the Constitution, in Articles IV and I, sought to require the federal government to protect states from invasion and acknowledge the states’ “sovereign interest” in protecting their borders…
