(Citizen Times) ASHEVILLE – The N.C. Supreme Court will take up the case surrounding the fight over removal of a downtown monument honoring a confederate-era governor, which could mean months of waiting as the fate of Asheville’s Vance Monument is decided.
In a Dec. 16 order, the Supreme Court blocked an April judgement from the N.C. Court of Appeals, which ruled in favor of the city and allowed removal of the monument, and agreed to review the case.
