Sen. Cotton: Dems Talk About Threats to Democracy, But They’re Most Worried About Threats From Democracy’
(CNSNews.com) – In a late addition to today’s schedule, President Biden plans to "deliver remarks on preserving and protecting our democracy as Election Day approaches."
Today’s 10 a.m. announcement from the Democrat National Committee says, "The president will address the threat of election deniers and those who seek to undermine faith in voting and democracy; and the stakes for our democracy in next week’s election."
Biden’s speech at Washington’s Union Station is set to begin at 7 p.m. (The gaffe-prone Biden has not given a formal, solo news conference since January.)
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) smiled as news of the president’s planned election-denier speech broke while Cotton was being interviewed on Fox News:
"Yeah, well I’ve heard a lot about Democrats worrying about threats to democracy. I think Democrats are most worried about threats from democracy," Cotton said. "Because in six days, the American people are going to repudiate their ideological agenda. I think we’re going to have a big victory, win back both the House and the Senate.
"Because the American people are tired of worrying about how they’re going to feed their kids and fill up their gas tank and heat their homes and pay their rent and whether they can take their kids to a park or whether they have to worry about being the victims of crime.
