Arizona began using shipping containers to fill gaps in border wall system in early August

(FOX) The administration of Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is pushing back against a demand by the Biden administration that it take down a number of shipping containers it has used to plug a gap in the incomplete border wall, saying that border states "cannot rely on the federal government to ensure its security."
"The myriad of federal agencies that claim jurisdiction on the southern border but do nothing to prevent the public nuisance caused by illegal immigration and criminal activity that exploits the open border is quite frustrating to those that live, work and recreate on that border and in our state," Allen Clark, director of Arizona’s Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, said in a letter to the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation, obtained by Fox News Digital.
The bureau had written to Gov. Ducey’s office last week, arguing that the move in August to fill nearly 4,000 feet of gaps in the border wall with shipping containers topped with razor wire is illegal…Read the rest

OLS officers apprehend over 700 people in one night, catch a man wanted by Interpol

(Center Square) Texas law enforcement officers working through Operation Lone Star are continuing to thwart criminal activity at the southern border, making record numbers of apprehensions including human smugglers.
On one night, for example, Texas National Guard soldiers assisted with apprehending a group of 717 people who illegally entered Texas, crossing the Rio Grande River in Eagle Pass.
In another instance, DPS brush teams arrested a Honduran man who’d illegally entered the U.S. after he crossed onto a private ranch in Maverick County. After performing a criminal background check, they found that he had an active Interpol warrant for murder in Honduras.

Sheriff: $172K Worth of Fentanyl Discovered at Georgia Mailing Facility

(BREITBART) Approximately $172,500 worth of fentanyl tablets were seized by authorities at a mailing facility in Gainesville, Georgia, on Thursday.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) noted in a Friday press release that a K9 unit alerted officers during a routine check of a package being shipped to Oakwood from California.
When drug agents opened the package, they discovered about 575 grams of fentanyl in a package concealed inside the original box.
The sheriff’s office noted that while drug agents have seized methamphetamine and marijuana in past searches, this is the first time they have discovered fentanyl.

“Phone call came at 4 a.m. this morning,” said Coe, the sheriff of Kinney County, which borders Mexico.
A human smuggler had been caught trying to sneak illegal immigrants across the border into the U.S. The sheriff counted aloud, recalling the five suspected human smugglers who were caught before 8 a.m. that day, Sept. 26.
Between January and June of this year, officials caught a total of 292 suspected human smugglers in Kinney County, which has a population of about 3,600. Last year, law enforcement in Kinney County caught 169 smuggling suspects.
