(Lincoln Brown, PJ Media) I may sound like a bit of a poser here, but I’ve reached the blessed point in my life where I am old enough not to care about other people’s opinions. Years ago, we ditched TV. I keep one in my study that I turn on now and then to watch the news while I write, just to make sure that I am not missing anything of alleged import. But beyond that, sitcoms, game shows, sports, and reality TV don’t usually make it into our home.
I’ll admit that some people think we are weird, but to be honest, it saves a little money and doesn’t support a system that is designed to destroy people like me and probably you, too. I do have to confess that I did watch the last Super Bowl at our local restaurant/watering hole since I am from near Cincinnati and the Bengals were playing. That probably won’t happen again in my lifetime.
Although Disney has been outed as a leftist tool in recent years,..Read the rest

How the Media Fell for A Racism Sham

A Brigham Young University paper scooped the New York Times. All the students did was practice basic journalism.

(Common Sense) Last month, Rachel Richardson—the only black starter on the women’s volleyball team at Duke University—leveled a shocking accusation. She said that during her team’s August 26 match against Brigham Young University, fans inside the BYU arena in Provo, Utah inundated her with racist abuse and threats.
After the match, 19-year-old Richardson told her godmother, Lesa Pamplin, about the incident. Pamplin is a criminal defense attorney running for a county judgeship in Texas, and was not at the game—but the next day, she published a tweet that rocketed the story to national attention: “My Goddaughter is the only black starter for Dukes [sic] volleyball team. While playing yesterday, she was called a [n-word] every time she served. She was threatened by a white male that told her to watch her back going to the team bus. A police officer had to be put by their bench.”
The tweet is no longer available, but it racked up 185,000 likes before it was archived. LeBron James himself responded…Read the rest

Longtime business moving after Civil War store reopens

(axios) The Eaton family spent decades running a business in downtown Kennesaw, but the city’s decision to allow Wildman’s Civil War Surplus, a controversial shop that showcases racist artifacts, to reopen will bring that investment to an end.
Driving the news: Eaton Chiropractic will close its doors on Main Street and relocate outside the city limits. Its owner, Dr. Cris Eaton-Welsh, told Axios she sold the building and will move to a new office off Cobb Parkway.
A sign in her business window indicates the office will move Oct. 1.
Her father, James "Doc" Eaton, who resigned in June from the Kennesaw City Council in protest of Wildman’s opening, launched the practice in 1992.
What they’re saying: Father and daughter both told Axios that Kennesaw ignored its own building codes that would show Wildman’s has serious structural issues.
"I just got…tired of nothing being done," Doc Eaton said. "And when they renewed the business [license]… I just said screw it. I’m done."
Catch up quick: Wildman’s Civil War Surplus opened in 1971 and was owned and operated by Dent Myers…Read the rest

‘I don’t want your vote’: Fresh off of his Democratic primary win, Crist says DeSantis supporters ‘should … vote for’ DeSantis

(The Blaze) Democratic Rep. Charlie Crist, who won Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial primary on Tuesday, declared on Wednesday that he does not want the votes of Floridians who support Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and suggested that DeSantis backers harbor "hate" within their hearts.
"Those who support the governor should stay with him and vote for him," Crist said, adding emphatically, "I don’t want your vote. If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there. I want the vote of the people of Florida who care about our state," Crist said on Wednesday….Read the rest
