North Dakota official says ‘no evidence’ supports suspect’s claim teen was Republican ‘extremist’
Shannon Brandt told officials that the teen was part of a ‘Republican extremist group,’ according to court documents.

(FOX) A North Dakota official said that there’s "no evidence" supporting Shannon Brandt’s claim that 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson was part of a "Republican extremist group" before he allegedly used his car to hit the teenager, who later died.
Brandt, 41, is being charged with criminal vehicular homicide, as well as leaving the scene of a crash involving a death after the incident in the early Sunday morning hours. He was held in the Stutsman County Jail until Tuesday, when he posted a $50,000 bond and was released.
The incident happened after a "street dance" in McHenry, North Dakota and Brandt told state first responders’ radio that he struck the pedestrian with an SUV because the pedestrian was threatening him," a probable-cause affidavit states. The document also states that Brandt fled the scene, but later returned and called 911.
Brandt also thought that Ellingson was part of a "Republican extremist group," and then allegedly hit him, according to the court document. …Read the rest

(Bacon’s Rebellion) In a protest that will never make the national news, an estimated 75 people turned out for a weekend march in Richmond to denounce the latest killing of a child in a drive-by shooting. Fifteen-year-old Tynashia Humphrey was walking to the store from her grandmother’s home near the infamous Gilpin Court housing project when she was struck by a stray bullet. “Stop the killing! Save the children!” the marchers chanted.
“My baby had only been 15 for two weeks,” Karen Cheatham, the girl’s grandmother and guardian, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch. “She was walking to the store. She was out of my hands for two hours. She was supposed to return back to me at 9 o’clock to get ready for school…. Hold on to your babies and hold on to them tight because tomorrow is not promised to none of us.”
The march, I fear, is totally in vain. I see no sign that city politicians, General Assembly legislators, or the media have any inkling of why killings have spiked in the past two years, much less what to do about them. As a society, we are flailing ineffectually as we continue to apply the same bromides that never contained much truth to begin with….Read the rest

New Orleans is now America’s murder capital

(The Blaze) New Orleans is now the murder capital of America – surpassing St. Louis.
As of Sept. 11, New Orleans has had 205 murders thus far in 2022, according to the Metropolitan Crime Commission. With 52 homicides per 100,000 residents, New Orleans is the top U.S. city for murders, ahead of St. Louis with 45 homicides per 100,000 residents. The third worst city for murders is Baltimore with 40 homicides per 100,000, followed by Chicago with 17 homicides per 100,000 residents, according to Fox News.
New Orleans has experienced a 141% increase in homicides this year compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019. There has been a 100% increase in shootings in Louisiana’s Big Easy party city compared to 2019.
"Carjackings are up 7% and armed robberies are up 42%," Rafael Goyeneche of the Metropolitan Crime Commission told WVUE-DT. "It’s finally reached a tipping point, and the public demanded that something be done."

(NOQ Report) On Tucker Carlson Tonight, the Fox News host discussed the rape and murder of Eliza Fletcher in Memphis, Tennessee. The story has shocked much of the nation, but as Carlson noted, far too many were NOT shocked by it.
Leftists on social media went so far as to victim-blame Fletcher, wondering why she didn’t know “the rules” about jogging at that hour in a city like Memphis. Some of the comments were disgusting on their face, but they also betrayed a deeper problem we’re facing as a nation. Law and order have been replaced in many areas of the country with these so-called “rules” that mean American citizens should expect violence.
It’s the normalization of criminal dysfunction as the prevailing, unspoken law of the land. And as Carlson emphatically said, it must be stopped immediately before everywhere is Memphis.
“Our entire country will be Memphis if we don’t put a stop to this insanity right now with as much force as is required,” he said.
