Award-winning journalist missing since FBI ‘seized classified docs’ in home raid: report

(NY Post) An Emmy Award-winning ABC News journalist who broke several high-profile national security and terrorism-related stories has gone missing since the FBI reportedly seized classified information from his laptop during a raid on his Virginia home, according to published reports.
James Gordon Meek, a 52-year-old investigative reporter and producer of Hulu’s acclaimed documentary “3212 Un-redacted,” has not been seen in public since heavily armed federal agents raided his penthouse apartment in Arlington in April, according to Rolling Stone.
The magazine cited “sources familiar with the matter” as saying that federal agents found classified information on Meek’s laptop computer.
Meek’s attorney, Eugene Gorokhov, told Rolling Stone: “Mr. Meek is unaware of what allegations anonymous sources are making about his possession of classified documents.”
“If such documents exist, as claimed, this would be within the scope of his long career as an investigative journalist covering government wrongdoing,”…Read the rest

FBI Busted In New Massive Scandal – This Changes Everything

(Conservative Patriots) …“At the beginning of last year, the FBI searched and seized a massive amount of assets at the U.S. Private Vaults in Beverly Hills. Depending on which news service you read or watch, the FBI confiscated items from 800 to 1,400 safety deposit boxes.
The items seized included $86 million in cash, jewelry, and $1.3 million in poker chips. Additionally, the FBI photographed password lists, credit cards, a prenuptial agreement, immigration, and vaccination records, bank statements, heirlooms, a will, and even cremated human remains.
One of the box holders was an unemployed chef with $57,000 in cash in his box. When the man went to court to get his money back, the FBI claimed he couldn’t have made that much cash given his employment status, and that the money came from drug trafficking since their drug dogs had sniffed narcotics on the money.
(To be clear, 90% of U.S. bills have traces of cocaine on them. They could do this to almost anyone.)
Later it turned out the FBI was wrong when the man was able to provide documentation proving that the money was his and obtained through legal, legitimate activities. Will the FBI face any repercussions for this activity? I wouldn’t hold my breath…Read the rest

The Media is Baffled After FBI Raid on Mar-a-Lago Recovers Dozens of ‘Classified’ Folders That are Empty

(Trending Politics) The FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid has been heralded by anti-Trump media as the ‘scandal-to-end-all-scandals.’ The nail-in-the-coffin. The ‘big one’ that will end Trump’s chances of becoming president ever again.
So, imagine the media’s surprise when many of the “classified” documents that were procured by the former sitting president for his official business — including those ‘top secret’ documents pictured in the FBI’s staged photo released to interfere in the U.S. elections — were merely folders… that were empty.
That’s right. Empty folders.
The FBI’s unsealed Mar-a-Lago photo now appears like a smoking gun case of “election interference.” It intentionally misled Americans to believe that those folders contained ‘top secret’ documents that were obscured by ‘cover sheets.’
“The FBI recovered more than 11,000 government documents and photographs during its Aug. 8 search at former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, as well as 48 empty folders labeled as “classified,” according to court records that were unsealed on Friday,” Reuters reported.

“The unsealing by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in West Palm Beach came one day after she heard oral arguments by Trump’s attorneys and the Justice Department’s top two counterintelligence prosecutors over whether she should appoint a special master to conduct a privilege review of the seized materials at Trump’s request,” the report added…Read the rest

Trump slams DOJ’s filing opposing ‘special master,’ allegation he tried to ‘obstruct’ probe: ‘I Declassified!’
Trump claims he ‘declassified’ documents that DOJ alleges were concealed and removed in order to ‘obstruct’ the investigation

(Fox) Former President Donald Trump slammed the Department of Justice following the agency’s opposition to his request for a "special master" to review documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate, claiming he had already "declassified" the materials.
In the 40-page response filed Tuesday, the Justice Department opposed the appointment of a special master to review documents seized from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, saying he "lacks standing" because the records in question belong to the United States, not him. In addition, the DOJ’s filing said documents were likely "concealed and removed from the Storage Room and that efforts were likely taken to obstruct the government’s investigation."
In a flurry of Truth Social posts Wednesday morning, Trump said it was "terrible" that the FBI "during the Raid of Mar-a-Lago, threw documents haphazardly all over the floor (perhaps pretending it was me that did it!), and then started taking pictures of them for the public to see. Thought they wanted them kept Secret? Lucky I Declassified!"…Read the rest

This is what redaction looks like. Don’t get your Hopes Up

This is what redaction looks like
For those of you waiting on some bombshell information from the Trump affidavit this morning, don’t get your hopes up. Government Supremacists always cover their own arses first.
Normal people don’t have much experience in dealing with government documents. I’ve dealt with a few redactions from FOIA requests over the years. What you get after redaction is usually useless. That’s why real journalist who want the dirt must hunt for leaks. Whether honest or corrupt, no sane government employee is going to leave a dirty paper trail to the boss who holds his career/cajones clutched in his sweaty little fist. Just saying. – DD
